According to the latest figures, there are now over 0.5 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus across Pakistan. The virus has reached every corner of the country, sparking fears, and an economic downturn. This number is likely to increase over the coming weeks and months as the global pandemic reaches people in every part of the world.
One of our key projects Bukhsh hospitals are providing lifesaving medical care and general health services to the surrounding communities’ in Jhelum. Even at times of complete lockdowns, Bukhsh hospital remained committed to its mission of serving the poor and marginalized.
In many parts of the Punjab province, our teams are providing food packages to the affected communities and lifesaving medicines and nutrition support to the stunted children and Mother and Child Health Care. As Covid-19 impacts more communities in Pakistan, our teams will be running mobile health clinics, providing hygiene kits and nutrition support to the families.
We are also raising awareness of good hygiene practices like washing hands, training communities in healthcare.
